Other announcements

To all cultural sector stakeholders,

CHRC will launch the Cross-sectoral Recovery Roundtables (CSRR) project in August. This initiative relies entirely on cultural sector stakeholders from all disciplines and industries participating in order to democratically gather information, formulate solutions to problems and inform extra-sectoral stakeholders (governments, etc.) on the issues that we face collectively as we reignite Canada’s creative sector.

Please be on the lookout for the next communication which will come from CSRR-TRIR@culturalhrc.ca. This will start the nomination process which will be open from August 10th to September 10th, 2020; the election of caucus representatives will run from September 14th to September 24th, 2020. Following the elections, the caucus representatives will convene for an orientation session and the virtual roundtables will begin in early October.

We strongly encourage all Arts Service Organizations (ASOs) and Artist Associations to follow this project through to its first meetings in October. Having a body that can effectively represent the more than 798,000 cultural workers in this country will greatly improve our sector’s ability to effectively navigate this crisis. Please give us all a chance to come together.

Feel free to forward this message through your networks as we also welcome others who want to be added to the distribution list. Should you no longer wish to receive notifications about this project, please reply to this email.

In the meantime, an updated CSRR organizational chart is attached to provide an overview of the roundtables’ intended composition.

For further information on this project, please contact Hamal Docter or Jane Needles, Consultants for the CSRR project, at CultureCanada2020@gmail.com, 647-831-4295 (Hamal Docter) or 514-487-1011 (Jane Needles).

Wishing you a great end of July and looking forward to more good news next week.

Thank you and kind regards,

Grégoire
